Deep Ellum is the artistic hub of Dallas, so it’s no surprise that Tex has multiple pieces around the neighborhood.  In 2014, Tex painted the now iconic “Deep Ellum” mural for Healthcare Art Consulting.  His goal was to embody the energy, culture, and color of the area, which he clearly achieved as his piece is now a landmark of the neighborhood.

Impressed by the reaction to the first Deep Ellum mural, Westdale Properties reached out to Tex in 2018.  They wanted to capitalize on the success of the first mural, and asked Tex to paint a similar piece, while also incorporating images from their real estate properties and icons of Dallas.
