The Convention & Visitor Bureau of Arlington, Texas enlisted Tex to paint a series of walls in an effort to revitalize and beautify the city. Arlington’s downtown is currently experiencing a revival, which has resulted in many newly-painted white walls in need of decoration.
This project was engineered to go hand-in-hand with the Arlington’s Kindness Initiative, which Tex took into account when designing the logo for the program. The logo, which resembles the effect of a heart monitor, features the Arlington “A” surrounded by a heart.
The first art piece adorns the exterior of Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery. Influenced by the mural’s locale, Tex decided on a dessert-themed design. While the new Arlington Heart logo is the centerpiece of the wall, a collage of donut, cookie, and cake-inspired prints surround it. The bright colors of the newly-painted wall certainly add character to this recently restored part of town.
The second Arlington Heart Wall can be found on the side of Legal Draft Beer Company. When designing this piece Tex was inspired by the optical illusion of the Razzle Dazzle Camouflage, which was used by the Royal Navy in WWI. The Legal Draft and Arlington Heart logos are featured in opposite corners.
